NHERI Resources

Funded by the National Science Foundation, the Natural Hazards Engineering Research Infrastructure (NHERI) is a nationwide, shared-use network of facilities tailored for the natural hazards engineering research community. Investigators at these sites, including the LHPOST6, test innovative ideas for mitigating damage from earthquakes, windstorms, tsunamis, and related water hazards. The LHPOST6 is one of eight experimental NHERI facilities across the United States that support innovative investigations for mitigating damage caused by hazards such as earthquakes, tsunamis, landslides, wind storms, storm surge, and flooding.
